Central and quiet location in the heart of the Surselva

Ladir is an idyllic, very sunny and mostly fog-free mountain village at 1,250 m above Ilanz. Here you can enjoy quiet surroundings and a beautiful panoramic view across the mountains of the Surselva. The Rhine flows through the Surselva, and the region is shaped by idyllic mountain villages, valleys, pastures, meadows and forests. This region belongs to Romansh-speaking Switzerland.

Ilanz is the first city on the Rhine and the hub of the region, with numerous shopping options (Coop, Migros, Lidl, Aldi, etc.), restaurants, cafés and the main station of the Rhaetian Railway. Ilanz is reachable within 8–10 minutes by car or bus; the many summer and winter offerings in the surroundings within 20–30 minutes.

The apartment lies quietly and centrally in the midst of the most beautiful hiking areas in Graubünden and the well-known ski regions Flims-Laax-Falera (Weisse Arena), Obersaxen / Val Lumnezia and Brigels-Andiast, all of which are reachable in about 20–25 minutes by car or public transport. A little further away, Disentis, the alpine passes Lukmanier and Oberalp, and the newly opened Skiarena (Sedrun – Oberalp – Andermatt) are easily reached by Rhaetian Railway or car. The Surselva, with its mountains and valleys and countless touring possibilities, is a popular excursion and holiday destination for hikers and mountain-goers.

Ladir is well served by public transport; the bus stop is 100 m from the apartment. In winter a ski bus runs directly to Laax (Weisse Arena), and in good snow conditions the red piste descent down to Ladir is possible. Within 20–25 minutes of Ladir many leisure options await: in Vals you’ll find the architecturally renowned “Therme Vals” with bathing in warm spring water. Ilanz is 5 km away and is the central hub of the region and of the Rhaetian Railway, with good public-transport connections to all surrounding regions. The Rhaetian Railway offers numerous tours and excursions, including rides on the famous Glacier Express or through the impressive Rhine Gorge with its beautiful rock formations — which can also be walked on foot. In summer, visitors enjoy cooling off in the well-known mountain lakes Caumasee, Crestasee and Laxersee, or river rafting on the Rhine. The lovely summer swimming pool in Ilanz is also a popular spot for families.

Chur, the capital of the canton of Graubünden and the oldest city in Switzerland with its beautiful old town, cafés and restaurants, is only 35 km away.
